Wisdoms Call : 100 Meditations For A Life In Christ
$17.99Like all great building projects, the world runs on the wisdom of its Architect.
The Bible tells us that the universe–its foundation, inner workings, and relationships–is a carefully ordered place designed for humanity’s good and God’s glory. Too often, however, we attempt life based on our own understanding. This brings chaos, confusion, and consternation. Yet the Wisdom foundation that undergirds the world is so strong, not even the selfish folly of man could destroy our Creator’s peace-filled intentions.
To become wise, we must respond to Wisdom’s call–to dwell in Wisdom’s house. Proverbs is full of practical wisdom on everyday living. Scripture teaches that Christ Himself is our wisdom–our way back to understanding how to build and live as the Architect intended. Those who meditate on the wisdom of Christ will find themselves living in Wisdom’s house once again. You will be refreshed and able to bring life to those around you–just like Christ who breathed life from its start.
Scripture is full of one generous and welcoming invitation after another. In Wisdom’s Call, K. A. Ellis shows us how to claim the asset of wisdom and invites us to experience Jesus Christ–the Wisdom on which our world rests. Ellis calls us to live in God’s magnificent world as people who are wise.

Gift Of Joy And Hope
$17.99God is joyful. And He wants us to be full of joy, too.
The past few years have been extremely challenging, but even in dark times, the light of joy can shine bright.
True joy, says Pope Francis, is not a fleeting sentiment or a short-term solution to suffering; it springs from a solid hope that nothing and no one can take away.
A Gift of Joy and Hope is an invitation to embrace authentic beauty and a reminder to be open to encountering God, even in the midst of challenges. In this inspiring collection, Pope Francis encourages readers to change attitudes that exclude others; to reveal the deep dissatisfaction we all hide; and to overcome life’s challenges with courage and faith. He also challenges readers to hope without pessimism or doubt, to hope even in the midst of anxiety, to recognize the beauty all around us, and to let God show us how to deal with your doubts and fears.
This book aims to encourage readers to look outside themselves and believe that hope is still possible and that joy always has the last word.

The Prosperity Paradox
Global poverty is one of the world’s most vexing problems. For decades, we’ve assumed smart, well-intentioned people will eventually be able to change the economic trajectory of poor countries. From education to healthcare, infrastructure to eradicating corruption, too many solutions rely on trial and error. Essentially, the plan is often to identify areas that need help, flood them with resources, and hope to see change over time.
But hope is not an effective strategy. How is it possible for nations that receive millions of dollars in aid to remain poor?
Christensen suggests a better way. The right kind of innovation not only builds companies, but also builds countries. The Prosperity Paradox identifies the limits of common models of economic development, which tend to be top-down efforts, and offers a new framework for economic growth based on entrepreneurship and market-making innovation, to analyze countries like Japan, South Korea, Nigeria, Rwanda, India, Argentina… and Mexico.

Dont Die In Your Sins
$12.99People are obsessed with life; no one wants to die. In fact, we are scared to death of dying.
Most of us are familiar with the saying, “You only live once.” But we have to ask ourselves an all-important question: What happens to us after we die?
For most people, death is either a great mystery or a subject of great denial. However, the fact remains – we all die. What if this life is not all there is? What if there actually is life after death? If so, who can tell us what happens after we die? Because of His firsthand experience in heaven and His knowledge of the future, Jesus can. He presents us with three basic truths about the subject of life after death:
1. There is life after death.
2. There are two destinations from which everyone must choose.
3. There is a way to ensure you make the right choice.Right now, you may be dying of thirst, but you don’t have to perish in your thirst. Likewise, you may be overcome with sin, but you don’t have to die in your sins. There is something you can do, right now, to ensure that when you die, you will have everlasting life and happiness.
The most important thing you must do in this life is to make sure you don’t die in your sins.
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. – John 3:17 (NLT)

Come Alive Ruth Esther And Jonah
$19.99Ruth, Esther, and Jonah are some of our most loved Bible stories – the tales of many childhoods, the content of Sunday School felt boards.
But there is more to these famous Bible stories than meets the eye. When read through a grown-up lens, we discover they’re far grittier, wittier, and wiser than expected.
Come Alive: Ruth, Esther, and Jonah will help you uncover what is really happening in these stories – the real, the raw, and the at times shocking details – and their significance in the larger narrative of Scripture. You will see that:
*Ruth is not an ancient romance novel.
*Esther isn’t a sweet story about kings and queens.
*Jonah is a lot more than a big fish story. And because of this, they have much to say about the subtle, redemptive ways God intersects with our lives today.
Beloved by the people of Israel long before they were beloved by us, these cultural stories hold deep theological truths about God at work behind the scenes in the lives of ordinary people and less-than-ideal circumstances – revealing His all-encompassing love for humanity and His goodness, even when we feel powerless, forgotten, or hopeless.
The entertaining and expert storytelling in these books is an invitation to set aside the temptation to read the Bible as a “how to” book and start reading it literarily, with all its drama, humor, and brilliance. When you do, you will find universal truths and timeless nuggets of wisdom that help you perceive God in the hidden places and live with more hope in the face of tragedy, injustice, and failure.

Being United Methodist Christians
$16.99Learn what it means to be a United Methodist Christian.
How may we describe United Methodists? Where do we come from? What do we believe? How do United Methodists act? What are our distinctive characteristics? What is required to be a member of our denomination? How do we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ within this great communion?
In this resource, we offer answers to these questions and others in broad strokes as we describe our United Methodist Church. We will introduce you to how United Methodists live and think as followers of Jesus Christ.
The United Methodist Church possesses the characteristics of many other Christian traditions but has its own distinctive profile. Our denomination combines knowledge and vital piety, believing that serious theological reflection and spiritual practices are both part of the Christian life. United Methodists link personal and social holiness, expecting high personal integrity and deep concern for social justice. We are both evangelical and sacramental, showing concern for people who have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and honoring the transforming power of Baptism and Holy Communion. We welcome people with many different theological perspectives. Finally, United Methodists are both local and connectional, expressing our faith in local congregations, regional associations, and global missions, so that we might do more together than any of us could do separately.
This book will help readers:
* hear and claim for themselves the story of God’s love, God’s redemption, and God’s ongoing presence and power through Jesus Christ.
* explore and claim for themselves the unique beliefs and emphases of United Methodist Christians.
* identify ways to live day by day as United Methodist Christians as individuals and in community with other Christians.
We invite you to claim for yourself the continuing story of God’s mighty acts of creation, redemption, and power through Jesus Christ within our great denomination. As you begin or continue to see yourself within this living, dynamic part of the universal body of Jesus Christ, we invite you to live, be, and grow as a United Methodist Christian.

David : Characteristics Of A Spiritual Leader
$9.41Just like pouring out precious ointment, our dear brother Stephen Kaung ministered these five messages on being a spiritual leader as shown through the life of David, the man after God’s own heart. He uses David’s experiences to show four essential qualities necessary for spiritual leaders in the church-those who are fit for kingship and capable of leading and helping others.
Spiritual leadership is of vital importance in the church today. As our brother shares: What the church lacks today is a group of individuals fit to be spiritual leaders. Today, many are saved, but the church is scattered, weak, and unable to fulfill God’s will due to the lack of spiritual leadership. Therefore, the one great need is to have spiritual leaders who have a personal, spiritual walk with the Lord, and are ready to be used by the Lord to fulfill His heart’s desire to prepare His bride ready for His soon return.
The heart-felt burden of our dear brother was for God’s church to be a healthy church. May the Lord be pleased to use this book to raise up spiritual leaders to carry out His will in His church in these last days. Even so, come Lord Jesus!

Saints : A Family Story
$25.99A beautifully illustrated collection of the stories of the Saints the whole family will love – by father and daughter writing team, John and Catherine Cavadini, with stunning portraits by Anastassia Cassady.
This collection, Saints: A Family Story, is composed of stories the authors have written for their own children and grandchildren and friends. They are adapted from Scripture, from original sources within the Tradition, and from the writings of the saints themselves or their family and friends. The saints are presented as a “Family,” living in many different times and places. Just think: many of these saints learned to love and to live the faith through the witness of their parents and grandparents or their brothers and sisters. Other saints form spiritual families, with connections between them found across the centuries.
The stories begin with Pope St. John Paul II because he called the Church today to sanctity by giving us the gift of more and more saints. The stories then move chronologically, from stories of saints in the Gospels, to martyrs, confessors and ascetics of the early Church, to saints of the medieval period, and to more modern saints, like Ven. Augustus Tolton, Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Teresa of Calcutta.
Through the stories of these saints, we receive new brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers in the faith. Each person’s life tells the “story” of God’s love in a unique and unrepeatable way. The illustrations bring shape and color to these stories, capturing the true diversity among the magnificent and beautiful “family of saints.”

Meaning In The Moment
$19.99Life has its ups and downs, and it can feel like we’re always in the middle of a transition.
Whether it’s a painful end or a joyful beginning–or even an uncertain middle–theologian and minister Amy Davis Abdallah has found something that helps: rituals. In Meaning in the Moment, she shows why we need rituals to help survive and even thrive through various seasons of life.
Starting with the foundation that rituals are a core, and underexplored, part of Christian practice, Davis Abdallah draws from theology, psychology, and personal experiences in creating rituals for herself and others. She offers practical guidance for readers to create their own meaningful rituals, including three types requiring varying levels of planning and participation: right now, with friends, and at church.
Readers will emerge with fresh ways to bring their faith to life for themselves, their families, and their church communities–and ready to experience the transformative power of rituals. The book includes a foreword by W. David O. Taylor.

Sacred Belonging : A 40-Day Devotional On The Liberating Heart Of Scripture
$18.99In this forty-day devotional, Cuban American writer Kat Armas shows us that reading the Bible with fresh eyes allows us to experience God in new and liberating ways.
Many Christians today are seeking to disentangle biblical teaching from power structures that marginalize women and people of color. There’s a hunger for a new kind of devotional that offers refreshing and relevant ways to connect with God and the Bible–ways that challenge readers to seek out a more liberated and embodied faith.
Drawing from personal narrative and Scripture, Armas highlights biblical passages that point toward decolonized themes centered on creation, wisdom, spirit, the body, and the feminine. Sacred Belonging helps us see how Scripture directs us to live a liberated faith, where we belong to God, the earth, and one another.

Concise Guide To Islam
$83.31For many in the English-speaking world, Islam remains a mysterious religion. What is Islam in the first place? Does it mean “peace,” or does it mean “submission”? Can it mean both? What is jihad? Sharia? Hadith? Who is Allah? What is a caliph, caliphate, or infidel?
In this compact volume, an expert in the study of Islam provides explanations for more than one hundred important Islamic concepts and terms, which are divided into major sections: texts, history, faith and belief, practice and religious duties, jurisprudence, and movements. Ayman Ibrahim first introduces the section, then defines each concept or term briefly. Readers can read a chapter at a time or flip through the book to find concepts or terms as needed. Each term is described based on original Muslim sources, mainly written in Arabic, as well as ample scholarly studies.
This introductory guide is written for anyone with little to no knowledge of Islam. It complements the author’s A Concise Guide to the Quran and A Concise Guide to the Life of Muhammad. Together, these three volumes are useful as a set of resources on Islam.

Renewing Christian Worldview
$83.31This brief but comprehensive introduction to Christian worldview helps readers understand the Christian faith as the substance of Spirit-filled living and as a knowledge tradition stemming from the global Pentecostal movement.
Using beauty, truth, and goodness as organizing principles, the authors delineate a Christian worldview by tracing each category historically, comparing and contrasting each with alternative Christian expressions, and constructing fresh takes on each as read through the lived Pentecostal experience. Unlike other worldview books, the authors’ approach emphasizes beauty (relating to experience) rather than truth (involving knowledge acquisition); that difference in emphasis flows naturally from the Pentecostal perspective, which has traditionally centered the experience of the Spirit.
Pentecostal Christians will find this volume indispensable for thinking lucidly about their worldview from a renewal perspective.

Crowned With Glory
$17.99America was founded on the concept of the innate and inalienable rights of humankind. Many Christians see an echo of the imago Dei–that every human being carries the image of God–within those ideals. Yet these rights were systemically withheld from the Black and enslaved residents of this country for centuries. Through it all, Black people have proclaimed the truth of their dignity and personhood in powerful and profound ways.
Crowned with Glory collects many of the writings of these men and women, both familiar and lesser-known, to shine a light on what has always been there: an enormous movement of Black Americans demanding the liberty they were promised and deserved. With moving and insightful reflections on these oft-forgotten or suppressed voices, author Jasmine L. Holmes offers a hopeful and encouraging testament to the power of unrelenting cries for justice that will strike a chord with anyone looking for a robust Christian history of resistance.

Spiritual Art Of Business
$19.99We want the thousands of hours we will work over our lifetime to matter. But how do we know they’re really significant? How do we go from being defined by what we do to having our work become an expression of who we are?
There is not a quick fix but a progressive solution: it begins with surrendering our whole lives and then every moment of our lives to God. In The Spiritual Art of Business, “corporate mystic” Barry Rowan invites us to be transformed by God that he might transform the world through us as we begin to see our work as an extension of our faith. He says, “We don’t derive meaning from our work; we bring meaning to our work.” Relating his extensive past in high-ranking executive roles, Rowan beckons us into a connection with God that will infuse our lives, our offices, and our world with meaning.
With forty short chapters, this is not just a book to be read but instead is an invitation into an experience with God. Here’s an opportunity to ponder new perspectives and see business as a chance to serve God by contributing to a better society.

*Hinduism: “You Are That.”
*Buddhism: “Life Is Suffering.”
*Daoism: “The Dao That Can Be Spoken Is Not the Eternal Dao.”

Culture Making : Recovering Our Creative Calling (Expanded)
$26.99The only way to change culture is to create culture.
Most of the time, we just consume or copy culture. But that is not enough. We must also do more than condemn or critique it. The only way to change it is to create it.
For too long, Christians have had an insufficient view of culture and have waged misguided “culture wars.” But Andy Crouch says we must reclaim the cultural mandate to be the creative cultivators God designed us to be. Culture is what we make of the world, both in making cultural artifacts as well as in making sense of the world around us.
In this expanded edition of his award-winning book Crouch unpacks the complexities of how culture works, the dynamics of cultural change, and tools for cultivating culture. Keen biblical exposition demonstrates that creating culture is central to the whole scriptural narrative, the ministry of Jesus, and the call to the church. With a conversation between Crouch and Tish Harrison Warren as the new afterword, this expanded edition addresses the current landscape and forges a way for the future of culture making. Enter into it with guided questions for reflection and discussion for a deeper experience.

Fans of C.S. Lewis will enjoy this great historical work with commentaries on letters between great ecclesiastics on the subjects of divinity, war, the church and prayer.
In September 1947, after reading C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters in Italian, Fr. (now St.) Giovanni Calabria was moved to write the author, but he knew no English and assumed (rightly) that Lewis knew no Italian. So, he wrote his letter in Latin, hoping that, as a classicist, Lewis would know Latin. Therein began a correspondence that was to outlive Fr. Calabria himself (he died in December 1954, and was succeeded in correspondence by Fr. Luigi Pedrollo, which continued until Lewis’s own death in 1963).
Translator/editor Martin Moynihan calls these letters “limpid, fluent and deeply refreshing. There was a charm about them, too, and not least in the way they were ‘topped and tailed’ — that is, in their ever-slightly-varied formalities of address and of farewell.”
More than any other of his published works The Latin Letters shows the strong devotional side of Lewis and contains letters ranging from Christian unity and modern European history to liturgical worship and general ethical behavior.
