God and Caesar: The Biblical Keys to Good Government is an examination of the role of good government. In today’s postmordern society, where the emphasis on absolute truth has waned considerably, such an examination is necessary, particularly if the truth of God’s Word is to be preserved and acted upon. Too often evangelical Christians, including pastors, lay church leaders, and para-church ministers, are uninformed about the proper godly role that civil government plays in our lives, and the influence it can and must have in cultural, social, and civic matters. As a result, evangelials tend to view civil government as the enemy. This is simply not true. Dr. King outlines four basic keys to good government. They are: Establish a solid philosophical foundation based upon a Christian worldview of God and man; Form and understanding of the basic principles of the civil government; Identify the primary public policy areas that are at the center of evangelicals’ belief system. Activate community parctices associated with the various policy issues. Each key is intergrated with the others through the concept of self-government. Rewnal of this concept is critical to the continuation of good government at any level.
